Hi Can someone pls suggest best place to change forex dollars/euros into bahts - we are there in bkk for a short trip of 5 days and are staying at windsor suites at sukhumvit soi 20 thanks! Bangkok All Bangkok Hotels.

But do remember that the the difference is small Just looking the the link that's in the FAQ's, I see that the range of difference between the best and the worst is less than one baht. Look out for a Bangkok Bank booth. If the difference is approx 1 baht then I wont waste too much time hunting around. I did a comparison on some of the main thai banks that have branches in Bangkok airport a couple of months ago and Bangkok Bank came top so will definately look at their booth first.

There is an exchange desk infront of you after going through immigration. Its also the baggage claim area so I usually quickly change money whilst I'm waiting for my luggage to come through. That exchange booth next to baggage claim is TMB, which is known for not offering the best rates. Here are the up-to-the-minute rates offered by Thai banks and forex outfits so you can see how much they differ: ATMs charge baht per withdrawal by a foreign card. Using the forex booth there is no such charge.

Unlike most in-city locations, since the airport really does have sizable flight arrivals and departures around the clock, there are always multiple forex locations open.

FYI, exchange rates at the airport are exactly the same as in town, for the same banking institution at the exact same moment. I haven't checked who operates the booth near the visa on arrival point - but assume it may be Siam Commercial Bank. Their rates are always posted on the Web, here:.

You could print that before departure, to compare with posted rates on arrival - they should not have changed by much. If you change using an ATM you will incur a fee. Better to minimize the number of ATM withdrawals by maximizing your withdrawal commonly limited to 20 banknotes, e. If you notice the spread between buying and selling rates, you will notice it being smaller than in most other countries. Agreed with 1 change few amounts of THB for your transportation fee and out of the airport you can get much higher exchange rate at Bangkok , Superrich money exchange often gives high exchange rates.

You will at Superrich if there's one near you. The rubbish about getting better rates outside the airport is a proven urban myth with the exception of Superrich as said. The below link shows all the daily exchange rates - when it comes to the banks the rates for each bank are the same in Uttradit, Narathiwas, Phuket , etc etc and at Suwanabhumi. Apr 24, , 3: I have been traveling in Thailand and BKK many times even wrote a book about it.

Now I have been trading forex semi-daily for two months at my home country but idea moving to BKK and do some trading has been lingering in my mind since I started trading.

I would love to have group of similar minded people in Bangkok to talk about trading, maybe even have a community? Living costs in BKK are quite low and forex is really good combination to it. I am looking now options when to get back there and for how long. Similar minded people would be great push! I am the first of May in Bangkok fxmarketcenter yahoo. Apr 24, , 6: Page 1 of 8.
